Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

London, Soho. Located at Cambridge Circus (across the road from The Cambridge), the pub was founded as The George and Thirteen Cantons in 1759 (1750?). It was rebuilt in 1898, later known as The Scots House before becoming The Spice of Life in 1975. It has long been known as a music venue/hangout. In the 1950s/1960s it was folk and rock (including Bob Dylan, Pauk Simon, Cat Stevens) and later in the 1970s punk (Sex Pistols). Member of the comedy groups Monty Python and The Rutles were pub regulars. In the 1990s a thriving jazz club started up. The unique building located between Moor Street and Romily Street opens up into a large spacious room surrounding a long L-shaped bar. A McMullens pub (brewing since 1827), I chose the Boot Warmer Winter Ale and found a cozy spot to enjoy a pint before heading off to a show.
